ML-40HP - High Power Portable Loop Antenna
The ML-40HP mag loop antenna will handle 100 watts, weighs only 1.2kgs, tunes 40m thru 20m and is fully portable.
The QRP Mag-loop antennas use a ferrite ring inductance loading unit. This was found not to be suitable for the higher power antenna thus the new ML-40HP uses gamma match loading.
The tuning of the ML-40HP is very critical so a tuning LED has been incorporated into the new design. When the LED lights the antenna is resonant on the transmitted frequency with a 1.5:1 or better SWR. The LED will not light if the SWR is higher than 2:1.
Like the QRP antennas the High power model does not need an ATU, counterpoise or ground.

Specifications
These are theoretical specifications based on computer modelling. I do not claim that the ML-40HP will perform to these specifications. The design was based on these calculations, however, in practice the antenna may perform better or worse than indicated by the calculations.
